CONTEXT
Built a new e-commerce platform for Bodega Bay Lavender
As a freelancer, I owned the site redesign from end-to-end and implemented it with HTML/CSS and Javascript, increasing 2025 holiday sales by 400%.
Bodega Bay Lavender is a family-owned ranch in California that grows and distills lavender to create a variety of wellness products. The startup primarily relied on in-person revenue channels and lacked a strong online store so I was commissioned to create a more effective Shopify e-commerce platform.

PROBLEM
The old site wasn’t attracting or converting shoppers
With fewer than 3500 annual users and a conversion rate below 1%, the old platform needed fixing. Through a UX audit and a few user interviews I discovered the main issues were weak trust signals, no clear value proposition, and a lack of storytelling. A cluttered site map and weak SEO also limited sales.
GOAL
Create a more engaging shopping experience and increase online sales
I focused on improving shopper confidence by adding social proof, crafting a compelling value proposition and weaving in storytelling about the brand.

This new page highlights the ranch experience with clear details and strong guest reviews that encourage visitors to book a stay.
